It’s that time again. It’s time to meet your hosts for this year’s edition of the Math Movie Network!
For the past couple years, we’ve been creating math videos to share what we’ve been learning with the world. For example, if you click here you can see videos we made last year about adding and subtracting integers. Or you can view a video we made last year about a “surgery” to remove decimals from a divisor in a division problem.
This year we have a brand new group of hosts who will be sharing their math insights with you. You can watch the videos below to meet them!

What would you like to make math videos about this year?
What’s your favorite math video we’ve done so far?
Dear Mr. Avery,
I hope that we do a lot more math videos this year.
-Olivia Y. 😉
Dear Mr. Avery,
I am so excited for the math movie network! I agree we should do some science videos this year too. I loved all of the introductions, but my favorite would have to be the fourth groups because I love the music. I like these new ones better than in fourth grade personally. Anyways I am so excited for this new school year and I hope I can be in some of the videos!
Sincerely,
Ashley S. 🙄
Dear Mr. Avery and class,
I found your “Introducing Your Hosts!” clips fascinating. They look very professional with use of green screening to add very realistic backgrounds as you would expect from current affairs program. With such a great start, I think there will be some amazing uploads ahead for the Math Movie Network.
Video in the classroom has come a long way since I bought my first video camera for use in class way back in 1981. Back then it the only special effects was I wrote a program for an Apple II computer so I could add scrolling credits at the end. Now we can do so many things in a classroom.
Keep blogging and sharing the Math Movie Network videos.

Dear Mr. Avery,
These were all made really well and you did awesome with the background, although, I’m not sure why, but I couldn’t even keep my mouth shut even in that video, (the one that shows Ben F. before you play it).

Dear Mr. Avery,
I think doing a video on dividing and multiplying with different denominators. I would also like to learn about it too. From what I heard, it is easier to divide and multiply with different denominators then it is to add and subtract. I am so excited to be able to be in sixth grade and do videos. I don’t know about other kids but I love learning.
Sincerely,
Natalie S.
Dear Natalie,
I’m so glad to hear that you’re excited about learning and making videos. I’m really excited to get started with our first one. It’s such a great way to be able to share what we’re learning with others. We’re going to have to start making some science videos this year too!
Sincerely,
Mr. Avery
