Through our blog, we have made great connections with so many classes from around the world. We’ve talked to classes from our neighbors to the north, Canada. We’ve talked to classes from other continents such as Europe and Australia. It’s been a wonderful experience getting to learn about different cultures.
A few teachers wanted to find a way to team up with other blogs in order to learn even more about classes in different parts of the world. With that, Quad Blogging was born. Quad Blogging is where four class blogs team up. Each week, the focus is on one of those blogs. Everyone from the other three blogs will visit that blog to learn more about that class, their school, and their community.
We will be teaming up with three other classes, starting on Monday, March 7th. Here is the schedule for our Quad Blogging:
- March 7th – March 13th – Mrs. Ranney’s Class Blog (California, USA)
- March 14th – March 20th – Mr. Avery’s Classroom Blog (Massachusetts, USA)
- March 21st – March 27th – Mrs. Watson’s 2/3 Class (British Columbia, Canada)
- March 28th – April 3rd – 3DD Class Blog (Leopold, Australia)
This first week, we’ll be leaving comments for Mrs. Ranney’s Class. Make sure to leave quality comments. Proofread for proper capitalization, punctuation, and spelling. Don’t forget to let them know you’re from Mr. Avery’s class!
Head on over to Mrs. Ranney’s Class Blog!
A special thank you to Mrs. Yollis and Mrs. Morris for helping to set up our Quad Blogging buddies! 🙂
Dear Mr. Avery,
I can’t wait to visit Mrs. Watson’s blog! It is going to be very interesting! The last time I visited her blog was when we voted as a class. My mom can’t wait to see which one wins. See you tomorrow!
Sincerely
Natalie S. 🙂
Dear Mr. Avery,
Quad blogging is turning out great! Our blog is famous! We have over one hundred comments in two posts!
Sincerely,
Natalie
Dear Mr. Avery,
So far Quadblogging is fun. Ella from Mrs. Ranney’s class is my blogging buddy. I learned that their school goes to fifth grade! I am still learning a lot about them! Who will get to do it after everybody visits our blog?
Sincerely,
Natalie S.
Dear Mr Avery,
I am looking forward in taking part with you and your students as quad blogging buddies.
Hope to learn and make new friendships!
From Bianca in 3DD.
Bianca,
We’re really looking forward to getting to know you better too! It’s going to be a lot of fun learning about three different classes. I wonder what our my class and your class has in common and what is different.
Did you visit Mrs. Ranney’s blog? Do you think you’d ever be able to try to build a fire in your classroom? It looked like a lot of fun!
Your new blogging buddy,
Mr. Avery
Dear Bianca,
I think we are doing a great job in writing comments! We have over one hundred comments in The Big Friendly Giant movie trailer. You can check it out sometime. Have you visited Mrs. Ranney’s blog yet?
Sincerely,
Natalie S. ♥
Dear Mr. Avery and Class,
We are so excited that we have started Quad Blogging. The 2/3’s are really looking forward to meeting new friends and learning about other places.
Looking forward to the next 4 weeks!
Mrs. W and the 2/3’s
Mrs. Watson,
We’re excited about it too! We’ve already learned some great information about Mrs. Ranney’s class and we’re looking forward to getting to know yours better too!
We’re very curious to know if your students play games that we’ve never heard about before as well. We had never heard of dummy kickball, bamboo, or Chinese handball before!
We’ll be talking to you again soon!
Mr. Avery’s class
Dear Mr Avery,
It is great to see you and your class involved in quad blogging, it’s a terrific concept!
I was talking to Mrs De Vries yesterday (she is the teacher of 3DD) and she is very excited about being quad blogging buddies with you! It is currently our week (2KJ and 2KM) in our quad blogging project, so hopefully we reach our goal of 2500 visitors!
Best of luck with the project!
Warm wishes,
Miss Jordan
Miss Jordan,
Thank you! We’re very happy to be quad blogging. It’s been a pleasure getting to watch you and some other great blogs quad blogging as well!
We’re looking forward to getting to know a little bit more about 3DD and life over there in Australia! The students were so excited to learn about a class in California this week so I can only imagine what their thoughts will be about a whole different continent.
Best of luck in your new school year!
Mr. Avery
Mr Avery-
I am very interested in learning more about Quad blogging. How do you participate? My 4th grade class just started blogging on kid blogs. They are hooked! We would love to connect with other classrooms. Any information you could provide would be greatly appreciated! Thank you very much!
Sincerely,
Kimberly Powell
Hi Kimberly,
Welcome to the world of blogging! It’s such an amazing experience for the students. Yours will really enjoy it!
The best advice I can give is to do exactly what you’re doing now. Visit other blogs and comment. That’s the best way to connect with others. Then, leave a link to your blog at the end of the post. You’ll be surprised how quickly others start to visit. Soon the connections start to build upon one another. It was through these that we found our Quad Blogging buddies.
If there’s anything else, just let me know. I’ll be more than happy to share!
Mr. Avery
