Roald Dahl has a way of bringing stories to life. His words weave magical stories that pull the reader right into the pages. It’s been easy for some of his books to be converted into movies. You may have seen Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Matilda, or James and the Giant Peach. All were based upon Roald Dahl stories.
We recently read another Roald Dahl book, The BFG, in class. We loved it so much that we thought we’d create a movie trailer to get others to try to read the book! We put our green screen to use once again. Just like a real movie, we shot many different scenes from many different angles. Some made it into our trailer, while some got cut. We hope you enjoy our final result that can be seen up above!

Dear Clancy and Declan,
My name is Natalie. In our class, Mr. Avery read us the book aloud to us. It was funny! He does say a lot of silly words! I have never seen the movie in my life!
What is the movie like?
I have a few questions about the movie:
What is the movie like?
Was the movie a cartoon, or was it with real people?
Sincerely,
Natalie S. ♥
Dear Mr Avery and class,
Our names are Clancy and Dec and we’re from 3DD. The BFG is an awesome book. I really like it. I happen to be reading the BFG right now. Snozzcumbers seem yum right?

Me and Dec have both seen the BFG movie in grade one and two. Have you guys seen the movie of the BFG? How many of you have read the BFG? It is really funny. He says lots of silly words doesn’t he?
I like the BFG’s big floppy ears .

PS Your class room blog is awesome to me and Dec:|
Dear Mr. Avery and class,
Wow 90 comments thats a lot! I really liked the video. the friendly giant. The backgrounds were amazing . I admit it, I liked the whole thing! How did you make the giant look so big?
Your friend,
Karin in Mrs. W’s class 🙂
Dear Karin,
I know! Now we are up to a hundred comments! The way we made the giant look big is because, we had a green screen behind in the background. Then, Mr. Avery made the orphan (Sophie) look small.
Sincerely,
Natalie S. 🙂 ♥

Dear Mr. Avery and class,
I think that would be a great trailer. 🙂 I really liked the part that it said she wasn’t supposed to see him but she did and she said, “Please don’t eat me.” Ha ha a bit funny. Do you have a favourite part?
From
Fay in Mrs.W’s class
Dear Mr, Avery’s class,
Wow! What a great video! How do you make the movie and put it on your class blog? I hope I know how to put a movie on my blog. The girl in the movie looks so small and the BFG looks so big. Is the BFG is already bigger than the girl or you did you make the boy big? I think that the BFG looks so, so enormous. My favourite part in the video is when the girl says “Don’t eat me!”
Hope you have a great time.
From Jenny in Mrs. W’s class
Dear Mr. Avery and class,
